After spending over 25 years at IBM as a successful Information Technology professional, I decided to pursue a new career in higher education. I dedicated the past 10 years working with Binghamton University college students. I developed and launched a job-shadowing program to connect students with alumni. As Director of Harpur Edge, I created a new office and programs to enrich student’s personal, academic and professional development. I taught mindfulness and meditation classes which were very well attended and received.
Mentoring and coaching has been a passion of mine for many years. At IBM, I was the volunteer coordinator for the Women in Technology program, visiting middle schools to encourage girls to pursue STEM. I also did one-on-one mentoring in local public schools and virtual mentoring for college students and young professionals.
My other passion is mindfulness and meditation: being present with here and now, listening to my heart (not just my head!) and following my intuition. These practices have been life-changing for me in so many ways. I love to share my experiences to help others find peace.
In preparation for my retirement from Binghamton University in December 2020, I earned my teacher certification from the Koru Mindfulness Center so that I can teach others mindfulness and meditation practices.
